TB-250C and TB-250H Natural Gas Torch Boosters
When an application is in an environment where ambient temperature is consistently above 90F/32C, where the duty cycle is more than 16 hours a day or where pressure is up to 150 psi a Heavy Duty TB-250C or TB-250H Torch Booster is recommended. TB-250C and TB-250H adds a Cooler Module to the Standard Duty TB-250 Torch Booster.
Heavy Duty TB-250C normal outlet pressure is up to 60 psi with a flow rate up to 300 cf/hr. Normal outlet pressure for the TB-250H is up to 150 psi with a flow rate of up to 250 cfh. The Cooler Module is connected to the Booster Module with a pair of hoses that remove hot oil from the Booster Module, cool it in the Cooler Module and return the oil to the Booster.
Once started the TB-250C and TB-250H Torch Boosters automatically adjust to the gas flow demand of the application up to the capacity of the unit. There are no controls other than ON and OFF. The unit should be allowed to continue running for short breaks such as setting up the next task, breaks, lunch, etc. A single set of controls on the front of the Booster Module operates both modules.
Typical Applications
Typical applications for the TB-250C Torch Booster include hot environments, 24 hour operation, and mission critical applications for up to 8 standard flame cutting or brazing torches, up to 4 Messer brand cutting torches, 3 Shrinkfast Model 975 Heat Tools or 2 Model 998 Heat Tools, 2 Ripack Heat Tools (Model 200, 2200, 3000), NC Tool Forge with up to 8 burners or a Belchfire Mono torch.
Typical applications for the TB-250H Torch Booster are situations requiring very high pressure natural gas for fuel cell research and development, testing burners and engines and other high-tech development.
A single set of control buttons, power/start/stop, on the Booster Module (top right) also operate the Cooler Module (top left). Once started no operator attention is required - the Booster will automatically adjust to the flow demand of the application. Hot oil from the Booster is cooled by flowing through a rediator in the Cooler Module and returns to the compressor.
Technical Description and Installation
TB-250C and TB-250H Torch Boosters are designed and manufactured to international standards and are permitted in buildings where gases in cylinders, such as propane and acetylene, are prohibited.
Utility supply gas pressure can range between 3.5" WC and 5 psi. The building gas supply pipe should be at least 1 1/2" diameter and present a 3/4" male tee for connection of the Torch Booster. G-TEC supplies a shut-off valve to be installled where low pressure gas enters the Torch Booster
The Booster Module and Cooler Module are connected by a pair of 5 foot flexible hoses, the Cooler power cord plugs into the Booster Module. Both units are operated by controls on the Booster Module.
In North America the power requirement is 208V single phase 30 amp; internationally TB-250C and TB-250H Torch Boosters are available in 230V 50 Hz configurations.

The TB-250C and TB-250H Booster Module measures 28"W x 20"T x 24" D and weighs about 175 pounds. The Cooler Module measures 20"W x 16"T x 18"D and weighs 105 pounds. The Cooler Module can be stacked on top of the Booster Module to conserve footprint space.
Scheduled maintenance includes changing a filter drier and two check valves every 2,000 hours of operation. Oil filter on the Cooler Module is replaced after first 500 hours of operation; oil change every 6,000 hours of operation.
